Get to know Britney Taylor – Owner of ‘The Happiness Agreement’

unnamedHi everyone! I am so happy to introduce you all to Britney Taylor. She own The Happiness Agreement – which is a blog for women who are wanting to be more happy! & I think at a time like this, with all the Covid-19 and quarantine, it is a perfect time to learn how to be more happy and take care of our mental health while stuck indoors. Let’s get started on meeting her.

Q: Can you tell my readers about yourself and your blog?

A: Hi! Nice to meet y’all. My name is Britney, and I own a happiness resource site, called The Happiness Agreement. The site is for (mostly) women who are looking to increase happiness in their daily lives through clarifying purpose, reaching goals, self-care, and self-love. You should stop by! I’d love to have you.

Q: How did you first get into blogging?

A: I got into blogging by way of my own diagnosis of chronic depression and anxiety. I was searching for a way to stop the extreme cycles I was going through. I’d had enough, and found a way to slow down the cycle. I just wanted to share it with everyone who might be experiencing the same symptoms of depression, lack of direction, and low self-confidence.

Q: What would be your ideal working environment?

A: My dream workspace would be in a different country, during a warm time of year. I’d be sitting by the sea, drink in hand, twins enjoying themselves with their dad not too far off.

Q: What has been your favorite thing about being a blogger?

A: My favorite thing about being a blogger is the freedom to create whatever I want to try to help my target audience. The experiment of it all is exhilarating!

Q: Is there anything you’re struggling with right now?

A: Being stuck in the house during this quarantine has already been so tough. But my family and I have been trying to acclimate to our new at-home schedule. I’ve been finding support in family and other creatives online.

Q: Were you able to ask for help when starting, or did you have to do everything on your own?

A: I was able to ask for help, for sure. But I found most of my help through a course from Create & Go.

Q: What is your niche, and why did you choose that?

A: My niche could be considered mental health, I guess? And I didn’t really choose the niche. The niche is choosing me!

Q: Has there ever been a moment when you felt like you couldn’t keep going? If so, how did you get out of that funk?

A: There are moments that come like this all of the time. I might spend a bunch of time on what I think is a beautiful post that everyone will love. I release it, and it falls flat. And I get discouraged. Among many other reasons for discouragement, we come across as bloggers. But I remind myself why I started. I remind myself that this isn’t for me. It’s for my people. It’s for my boys, my family. And I find the courage to put myself out there one more time, to risk feelings of insecurity and failure to push toward the day I find success. And then more success.

Q: If you can tell yourself something when you first started blogging, what would it be?

A: Give yourself grace on this journey, Britney. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it.
