At this time, every one is trying to grow on instagram…but how do they do it? It really depends on your niche. It has to be something relevant, something people would enjoy following your page for. Me? In all honesty, have had my instagram since 2014 and still don’t know what the heck I’m doing. I don’t really have a niche when it comes to my instagram – I just post whatever and hope people like it haha.

Instagram is constantly changing. Like, literally, they are ALWAYS changing their algorithms. Another changed just last week! People we losing likes and comments on their photos like it was a photo they posted months ago – barely any engagement. This post will hopefully help you with growing your instagram or just making it better!

The first thing, like I mentioned, is have a niche. This will allow people to see your page as “oh, they constantly post about something I like, I am going to follow them because they have great information” – which leads me to captions. When posting a photo, be sure to have informative information. Something that your followers or potential followers can takeaway from you – what can you teach them? And make sure it’s engaging – this will allow people to comment your photo – more comments –> more engagement –> you will show up on more people’s timelines that follow you. (I have this issue – so many of my followers do not see my posts).

Next – you photos should have the same filters. I spoke with a PR/marketing agency and they said bright photos work lovely (So that’s what I started to aim for). Have the photos look professional and not too filter-y. Like, a natural lighting bright photo – and make sure all photos have this same theme.

Then – you will want to post consistently. It does not have to be every day – a lot of people think this. If you post 3 times a week, stay consistent with that. Although, I have heard from a few people that they post 2-3 times A DAY and their engagement (likes and comments) grow by the 2nd/3rd photo. So this, I am not sure what the best strategy is and I don’t want to give you false information – just telling you what I heard.

From what I hear, people say do not use all 30, use 15-20. They say do not use the same hashtags all the time – but I have been using the same ones for about a month and they’ve been fine, so like I said, I don’t know what the deal is with them. The best thing to do about hashtags is research, see what is relevant to the photo you are posting. Also, when wanting to use a hashtag, it’s best to use the ones that do not have millions of photos, use the smaller hashtags in the related part of the popular one. This way, you won’t just get lost with the other millions but show in the hashtags more!

If you’re a blogger or have your own brand, it is best to make your own hashtag and use it! I recently started one, it’s #CuriouslyShar (feel free to tag it on IG, would love to see your photos). It is great to brand yourself! This way, people will wonder who you are and that will bring traffic to your page!

I really hope this helped you in any way! If you have any tips or tricks, comment below! Would love to grow this community together and share information as we learn!
